Oscar Dresses that You Could Wear to Your Wedding

Peeps!

Did you watch the Oscars last night? If I’m totally honest, I mostly watched just to see Idina Menzel (I mean, Adele Dazeem. Um. Really, John Travolta? WEAR YOUR GLASSES. Or learn the name of the person you are introducing. You’re not new here.) ┬ásing “Let it Go” from Frozen. I love her, I love that song, and I can’t help it: I love the FASHION at the Oscars.

There were so many dresses that could really make the transition from red carpet to ceremony aisle.

Cristin Milioti, designer uncredited, from How I Met Your Mother. I love HIMYM, and I love her in this dress. This looks like a wedding gown! It also looks like maybe it’s a Reem Acra? or Christos?

Kristen Bell in Roberto Cavalli. I love the texture of her dress, and the color. And I just love these two. They always seem to be having a good time and enjoying each other.

Lupita Nyong’o in Prada. She can do no wrong this award season, you guys. Lupita has been knocking it out of the park for months now. And this dress! It’s PERFECT for a beach wedding. So soft and flowy and the plunging neckline. And the light blue color is perfection. Who says you have to wear white? It’s your day, brides. Wear blue. Do it. YES. Just, yes.

Cate Blanchett in Giorgio Armani. If I had any guts at all, my wedding gown would have looked like this. So sparkly, so fun, so amazing. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, she said it was “very heavy”, but whatever, Cate. You’re gorgeous. Work that dress!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum, designer uncredited. Um. This dress is AMAZING. This is so elegant and fun. Just gorgeous!

And let’s not forget the men. I spy a trend toward white dinner jackets! Of course, you guys know that Bob the Builder rocked that look first!

And, last but not least, Bob the Builder:

We were so ahead of the trends, you guys.

So, what so you think? What was your favorite wedding/red carpet look last night?

I agree, Camilla’s dress was awesome. She is such a stunning woman, she would look good in a paper bag. :-)
I liked Benedict too! And I also liked how much blue I saw in the mens wear. I guess Blue is also having a moment!

I love Lupita’s and Cate’s dresses. And I think Matthew McConaughey’s wife dress was also a great dress for a wedding, maybe in colder climates or for more modest brides. ]I like those kind of dresses mostly because I think sleeves make it so classy, but as a Brazilian (wait, she’s Brazilian too!), modesty is not high up on my list of requirements for a wedding dress. :P

My favorite man at the Oscars was definitely Benedict Cumberbatch. He can’t go wrong. I’m always paying attention to the well-dressed skinny and tall guys, to look for cuts and styles that will look good on Michael!. ;)
